As a Shift Operations Manager at our Corby site, you will play a pivotal role in leading the night shift warehouse operation. This includes full responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant running of the shift, ensuring that customer expectations are met or exceeded. You will manage people, performance, equipment and process compliance while contributing to continuous improvement efforts and strategic objectives. This position forms part of the site management team and plays a key role in achieving operational excellence.

Shift Pattern:

4 on 4 off rotating days and nights.

Salary:

40,000.00 - 50,000.00, depending on skills and experience.

NewCold Corby, Curver Way, NN17 5XN

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and manage the night warehouse operation, ensuring the effective deployment of people, equipment and systems in line with budgetary and service level expectations.

Performance & Continuous Improvement



Monitor, report on and act upon KPIs to drive improvements in service, efficiency and team productivity. Identify, lead and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse processes. Supervise, coach and develop shift team members, ensuring high levels of engagement, competence and performance. Manage team attendance, conduct and performance, addressing issues in a timely and professional manner. Ensure consistent and transparent communication with the wider site management team and key internal stakeholders. Produce accurate reports for senior leadership, highlighting key developments, risks and mitigation actions. Uphold high standards of health, safety and welfare for all colleagues and visitors, ensuring adherence to site procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain operational integrity, including access controls, stock accuracy and system compliance. Ensure timely completion of all required administrative tasks to support operational continuity. Oversee MHE (Materials Handling Equipment) servicing schedules and availability to guarantee operational readiness. Maintain accurate resource planning and shift execution, responding to operational fluctuations and business priorities.

Requirements



Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a warehouse or logistics environment. Experience in highly automated warehouse environments. Knowledge of cold chain logistics or food safety standards. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. LEAN, Kaizen). The successful candidate must operate within the organisational structure as defined by an up-to-date management chart. Job descriptions must define responsibilities for product safety, legality and quality. Suitable arrangements must be in place for coverage during the absence of key personnel. There must be a documented system for staying informed of relevant legislation, product safety issues, industry codes and technical developments, and for disseminating such information within the business where necessary. Strong understanding of warehouse processes, health and safety, and team leadership. Ability to manage performance, resources and priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation. Excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work a rotating day and night shift pattern.
