Job Description

We are looking for a new shift supervisor to join the team at our Courtyard shop within the Fitzwilliam Museum. The role is predominantly floor based, customer facing and sales driven.

The shift supervisor in the branch will strive to develop and maximise sales, to present an

exceptional shopping environment and to ensure safety and security of cash, stock,

personnel by overseeing the work of the sales team on a daily basis.

The shift supervisors main duties and responsibilities are assisting the retail management team in the efficient display and sale of all merchandise in our shop. Overseeing the acceptance of stock deliveries, ensuring safe handling, speedy preparation for sale and accurate inventory management. Working within set systems ensuring all paperwork and processes are followed efficiently and effectively. Receiving and unpacking deliveries and keeping store rooms tidy and organised.

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge

:

. Excellent leadership, communications skills and commercial sense ? Visual merchandising and display skills . High standard of numeracy . Computer literacy with reference to EPoS systems, excel and email ? An interest in the collections of the University of Cambridge Museums ? This is an active sales floor role and as such involves unseated working and daily lifting. Daily communication with all team members

Availability

Full time Weekdays and one weekend day
Candidates should ideally have previous retail management experience and be confident in working in a busy and customer focused environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality. Comfortable working with members of the public. A keen team player. Willing to work flexibly across our stores.

The post holder will have the opportunity to work within the Fitzwilliam Museum Courtyard shop, Botanic Garden shop and Museum of Zoology shop.

Contract is subject to a clean Disclosure and Barring check (DBS).
