Job Purpose:
GOL
are looking to appoint a
Shift Team Leader
to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the facility. They will report directly to the Plant Manager and Operations Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Using a DCS system you will be required to start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, water treatment plant, and other systems/apparatus
Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
Conducting plant walking tours and daily checks to ensure equipment is operating correctly and efficiently
Monitoring Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) ensuring the plant operates within the terms of its environmental permit
Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff
Working within the company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
Provide direction and guidance to the Shift Process Operator to undertake regular/scheduled plant walk-downs, to adjust assets, and undertake inspections to check the condition of the plant equipment and thus recording information as per the management system requirements/shift reports
Support and coordinate minor reactive maintenance and process stoppage situations on shift including raising jobs on the maintenance system
Enact and assist in the continuous improvement of operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s
Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit conditions
Maintain accurate records of plant performance via full and accurate completion of shift log spreadsheet
Supervising the testing and treatment of boiler, cooling, and other plant water systems
Maintaining a clean, safe and orderly plant condition to the prescribed standard
Manage, mentor, coach, and develop your Shift Team
Provide shift cover for other STL's in the event of sickness, holiday, or training
To work as part of a 365-day, 24/7, shift Rota
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
To be considered for this position you should have:
A relevant technical qualification such as HNC/NVQ in a relevant engineering discipline; or demonstrable time served experience is preferred
HMI, SCADA, DCS, etc., knowledge and experience is essential
Relevant operational experience gained in a power generation or steam raising process or the ability to demonstrate significant experience of the operation of mechanical processes via DCS/HMI
Experience of plant process management - plant control room and plant shop-floor environments
A flexible working attitude and a strong team working approach are essential
Strong communication skills with a logical approach to problem-solving
Basic IT skills to be able to undertake reporting via a computerised system
IOSH Nebosh BOAS qualifications are advantageous but not essential
Practical skills including basic mechanical fitting tasks (such as making minor adjustments/repairs)
Any Electrical AP or SAP background would be advantageous, but not essential
A Health and Safety qualification, such as IOSH would be of benefit however training will be provided
Knowledge and experience of team development would be a distinct advantage
