Our Nottingham Head Office is looking for a Shipping Controller to join the Distribution team. In this role, you will create and control shipments into the UK and worldwide, ensuring all documents are compliant with the destination customs rules and regulations.

The Role

  • To control and create export shipments using the Prima web-based system. Preparing all shipping documentation (and any accompanying customs documentation) to ensure that it is accurate both to the destination requirements and to UK customs rules and regulations.
  • To control and create returns shipments from wholesale clients (worldwide), checking all UK import documentation to ensure it is compliant with UK regulations.
  • To ensure that the shipments are despatching in a cost-effective manner that reflects the shipments priority.
  • To control all queries and crediting regarding Wholesale returns within the Prima system.
  • To create quotes (when requested) for shipments using pre-determined rate sheets or by liaising with the correct freight forwarder.
  • To ensure that all shipments are despatched in a timely manner and tracked to their destination.
  • To assist with checking and creating various UK customs documents when required.
Your Skills and Experience
  • A good understanding of working in an office environment with experience of filing systems and a positive phone manner.
  • Desirable - Relevant experience of working within a distribution/shipping office.
  • Highly computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise to set deadlines.
