We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to join our team in a busy charity shop. You will work 15 hours per week over 2 days, Monday to Saturday.

Job Purpose
To assist in managing all aspects of running the shop. This will include:
to deliver excellent customer service, meeting customer needs, promoting good practice and supporting authorised fundraising campaigns.
to open and close the shop, manage cashing-up and banking as required, and ensure stock is maintained at optimum levels.
to oversee the processing, pricing, sale and promotion of goods, including till operation and Gift Aid on donated items.
to receive, handle and process donations, minimising waste and returning goods for reuse or recycling.

Essential:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Adequate numeric skills
Good people skills
Customer care skills
Able to cope with heavy lifting and prolonged standing
Preferred:
Previous retail experience
Experience of display and merchandising
Experience of working with volunteers
Computer skills (basic)
Proven organisational and prioritising skills
You must also be sympathetic towards the mission, vision and values of Blythswood.
