enthusiastic team members for the busy Christmas season to work in our Edinburgh shops and at the city's Christmas market. This is a paid probation period: during the contract, you'll gain hands?on retail experience, learn about our products and contribute to sales. At the end of the season we'll select the top performer to join our company permanently in a B2C and B2B sales role, managing relationships with wholesalers, restaurants and other trade clients.
Key Responsibilities (Probation Period)
Greet customers, explain our range of honeys, candles and gift sets, and provide a warm shopping experience.
Set up and run our Christmas market stall or shop, restocking and maintaining a tidy, zero?waste environment.
Operate the point?of?sale system and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
Assist with gift wrapping, packaging and ensuring inventory is displayed attractively.
Work with colleagues to maintain stock levels, rotate products and follow food?safety and hygiene regulations.
Learn about our production process and sustainability commitments to confidently answer customer questions.
Record customer feedback and sales metrics to help evaluate product performance.
Additional Responsibilities for the Retained B2B Sales Role
If selected to continue with us after the season, you will:
Build and maintain relationships with wholesale customers such as specialty shops, cafes and corporate clients.
Identify potential B2B opportunities and prepare proposals for new accounts.
Coordinate bulk orders, invoicing and delivery schedules with our operations team.
Provide exceptional account management and after?sales service to promote repeat business.
What We're Looking For
Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work confidently with the public and thrive in a busy retail environment.
Previous retail, hospitality or sales experience is beneficial but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
Comfortable standing for long periods and helping with stall setup and takedown.
Availability for flexible shifts (including weekends and evenings) from mid November through early January.
A genuine interest in sustainable, locally produced food and a desire to grow into a sales career.
Contract & Compensation
Job type:
Seasonal/Temporary ( November-early January) with potential permanent B2B role.
Hours:
Part?time and full?time shifts; weekend and evening availability required.
Pay:
12.50-13.00 per hour depending on experience, plus a bonus linked to sales performance.
