We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the shop operates smoothly. Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases. Preparation of hot and cold sandwiches, including use of the grill, Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell products to enhance customer experience. Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and shop area. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for billing purposes. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed. Opening the shop on occaision, including Saturday mornings.

Skills

Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour. Experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory counts. Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations. Time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques in food preparation.
Hours will be circa 15 per week, over 2-3 days, potentially more to cover any absences, there will be a need for 6am starts at least once per week but an earlier finish.
