Join Our Team as a Part-Time Retail Shop Assistant!

Hours:

6-18 hours per week (approx.)

Availability:

Must be available weekdays and weekends, daytime and evenings. Flexibility to cover extra shifts during illness and holidays is advantageous.

Age Requirement:

Must be over 18 due to licensing laws.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to fill this part-time position. Previous retail experience is a plus but not essential, as training will be provided. You must be comfortable working alone and opening/closing the shop.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Maintain a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic manner with customers.

Sales Processing:

Process payments accurately and with integrity.

Promotion:

Actively promote and highlight offers to customers.

Product Display:

Present and display products correctly.

Stock Management:

Ensure all stock is coded, priced, and has the correct point of sale.

Inventory Handling:

Receive and unpack deliveries.

Communication:

Provide relevant information to the Store Manager (e.g., customer requests, product shortages).

Store Maintenance:

Ensure the store is tidy, presentable, and hygienic.

Procedures Compliance:

Follow all health, safety, and security procedures.

Additional Tasks:

Assist with inventory management and stock rotation. Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by management.

Requirements:

Must be over 18 years old. Previous retail experience is advantageous but not essential. Comfortable working alone and capable of opening/closing the shop. Strong customer service skills. Reliable, punctual, and flexible. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like lifting.

A Typical Day Might Include:

Greeting customers and assisting them with finding products. Processing transactions and handling cash accurately. Restocking shelves and ensuring product displays are neat and attractive. Receiving and unpacking deliveries, checking for accuracy. Handling customer inquiries and providing excellent service. Ensuring the store is clean and inviting for customers.
