Shop & Cafe
is an important part of community life - open to the public and showcasing the talents of our residents. We sell handmade crafts, baked goods, and produce made within Corbenic's workshops, as well as offering a welcoming cafe space serving light lunches, hot drinks, and home baking. The shop and cafe are not only vital community hubs but also meaningful work environments where residents can develop confidence, skills, and independence in a supportive setting.

The Role
We're looking for a Shop & Cafe Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is a hands-on, people-focused role supporting residents as they work in our community shop and cafe -- serving customers, preparing simple food and drinks, and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), worked flexibly across Monday to Sunday, on a fixed-term contract for 6 months with the possibility of extension.
You'll assist the Shop & Cafe Supervisor with the daily running of the shop and cafe, ensuring high standards of customer service, food hygiene, and person-centred care for residents who take part in the workshop.

Key Responsibilities
Support residents working in the shop and cafe, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
Provide excellent customer service to visitors.
Assist in preparing hot and cold drinks, snacks, and light lunches.
Operate the till and manage cash handling, including opening and closing procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and food hygiene standards across all areas.
Support residents in developing life and work skills in a safe, nurturing environment.
Participate in team meetings, training, and community events.

Essential:
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in retail, cafe, or customer service
Willingness to provide personal and holistic care when required
Ability to work weekends and adapt to a varied role
Commitment to equality, inclusion, and the Camphill ethos
Desirable:
SVQ in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Food Hygiene certification
SSSC registration
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities
