Shop Manager

within our Fish and Chips Van. The individual in this position will provide leadership, setting an outstanding standard for the business and motivating the team to achieve it. Responsible for overseeing the full operation of the Van, including driving customer satisfaction and enhancing brand loyalty by delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities



Lead and supervise the shop team, ensuring high levels of motivation and productivity Manage daily shop operations, including opening and closing procedures Oversee sales activities, set targets, and develop strategies to maximise revenue Maintain effective merchandising displays to enhance visual appeal and drive sales Organise staff rotas, delegate tasks, and monitor performance through regular feedback Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining professional communication standards and phone etiquette Handle administrative duties such as stock management, reporting, and record keeping Implement training programmes for staff development in sales techniques and product knowledge Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment Uphold health & safety standards within the shop environment

Key Responsibilities:



Recruit, induct, train and develop employees in line with company standards, ensuring all staff follow food hygiene, safety and service procedures. Create and manage staff rotas to ensure efficient daily operations. Oversee daily cash handling, banking, till reconciliation and monitoring of cash variances. Check in deliveries, verify orders, maintain supplier records and ensure correct stock rotation. Prepare and maintain required paperwork, including sales reports, stock records, wastage logs and staff timesheets. Manage inventory and stock control, including weekly stock-takes and ordering to meet demand while minimising waste. Analyse weekly sales, stock and performance data to identify operational improvements and support business growth. Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, health and safety requirements, local council standards and company operating guidelines. Lead by example in maintaining high standards of store cleanliness, food preparation consistency and customer service. Implement and maintain in-store promotional materials and menu displays in line with seasonal or campaign requirements. Handle unresolved or escalated customer complaints professionally and promptly. Encourage a positive team environment that supports productivity, accountability and excellent service delivery. Deliver a consistently high standard of service when dealing with products, sales, customer enquiries and catering orders.

Required Qualifications and Skills



The ideal candidate must have Valid Driving Licence and at least

A Level (or equivalent qualification)

together with

3-4 years of work experience

as a Shift Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager within the food industry. Candidates having graduation with significant managerial/supervisory experience in customer facing role in the retail sector are encouraging to apply. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, team leadership ability, operational understanding and a high level of professionalism.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 33,000.00-40,000.00 per year
