About the Role:
Supporting the Head of Channel, our Shopper Marketing Manager will develop, embed and execute the Shopper Marketing Strategy for Convenience, by identifying the drivers to influence the path to purchase for Immediate consumption / OTG, Top-up and Stock-up Shopping missions.

You will have direct accountability for Symbols and Independent customer groups and will bring the Shopper Marketing Strategy to life into actionable Annual Shopper Marketing plans, adapted for their customers & shopping missions, and ensure that these plans deliver against brand and channel plans, by attracting new shoppers into our brands, encouraging them to purchase more frequently and to trade up.

You will partner with the Customer Management teams to ensure that we have a joint understanding of our customer\'s strategy, objectives and targets, and how our Shopper Marketing approach can deliver against them whilst delivering our POP drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
Deliver the Channel AOP for your customers developing a clear strategy, drivers and actions to cascade through account planning and customers JBP.
Develop, shape and evolve the shopper marketing strategy from the Perfect Path to Purchase platforms for OTG, Top-up and Stock-up, focusing on in-outlet marketing solutions to: * Encourage customers to see soft drinks as a strategic business growth driver, resulting in increased macro space and focus to drive footfall

  • Encourage consumers to select Britvic soft drinks on more occasions, driving frequency & incidence
  • Making the shopper experience more enjoyable, resulting in loyalty & footfall for our brands
  • Create distinctive assets or campaigns that allow customers to back Britvic with the confidence that our creative will stand-out and deliver in a crowded market.
  • Provide shopper marketing leadership and ensure effective working relationships with the Category Management, Marketing activation, brands and customer management teams. Champion the functional capability of Shopper Marketing and its importance in our strategic business planning process and the knowledge growth of our commercial functions.
In-year delivery * Accountable for the translation and delivery of the \'in year\' shopper marketing plan for your customer base, through the Perfect Path to Purchase platform.
  • Accountable for the development and ongoing update of the Perfect Path to Purchase for all shopping missions relevant to your customers.
  • Accountable for the management and the delivery of inspirational brand days and \'customer sell in\', both total annual programme and also individual activities
  • Lead the effective development of close working relationships with key customers\' marketing teams. Develop detailed understanding of their marketing strategy, goals and calendar. Use this understanding to proactively identify opportunities to take advantage of retailer trading events
  • Champion an evaluation culture to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our spend and lead the robust and simple evaluation of all key shopper marketing activities within Grocery and Convenience, driving compliance to plan and identifying areas of risk & opportunity for Continuous improvement.
  • Active participant to the monthly POP review and shopper surgeries and active engagement of brands and activation to ensure AOP activity remains on plan through the MAP process
  • Support the Commercial Comms Manager to deliver the development and execution of the channel trade comms strategy (including trade events, trade press, retailer comms platforms & PR) within defined budget spend plans.
Shopper Marketing WOWs * Continually review and improve the efficiency, effectiveness of the shopper marketing activities
  • Champion a coaching, learning, listening and development culture across shopper marketing and in the wider team channel development team
  • Ensure Activity processes are embedded through quality and timely business case submissions
  • Build the relevant Shopper marketing contact strategy, internally and externally, to step-change the breadth, depth and seniority of your shopper marketing contacts.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required: * Good Shopper Marketing and / or Marketing expertise with experience of developing and delivering commercially grounded marketing activity into customers.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to shape a vision, create an annual plan and engage a wide network of stakeholders to deliver that plan with key customers.
  • Track record of creating successfully activating brand, NPD and portfolio activities.
  • Experience of working with customers and channels, in a consumer-led organisation.
  • Knowledge of customer management and 3rd party sales. Commercial and category understanding.
  • Meticulous project management capability and commercial grounding to ensure delivery of plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong internal relationships and customer relationships to influence, challenge and deliver.
  • Strong Leadership and influencing capability.
  • Strong Budget management skills.
  • Line management experience desirable but not a necessity. Be able to demonstrate how you have coached, supported wider team to develop
In addition to the above you will champion a coaching, learning and development culture across the convenience shopper marketing team and will focus on growing broader convenience shopper marketing understanding in other functions, mainly Brand & Customer Management, seeking to develop a Centre of Excellence approach for the function which results in Britvic and its brands exceeding customer expectations and delivering stand-out visibility in outlet.
