Position Overview:
As a
Showroom Sales Executive
, you will often be the first point of contact for customers visiting our Wakefield depot. Your role is pivotal in representing Balmers GM, providing expert product knowledge, and delivering outstanding customer service to ensure a smooth and engaging purchasing experience.
This position requires a motivated and customer-focused individual with a passion for machinery sales, retail excellence, and relationship building. While based primarily at the Wakefield depot, the role will occasionally involve attending trade shows, events, and supporting other depot locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent the dealership in the sale of groundcare and horticultural machinery to walk-in and prospective customers.
Execute the complete sales process--from initial inquiry through to post-sale support--utilizing company CRM systems and sales tools.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products and services offered by Balmers GM, including features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
Stay informed of current financing options and assist customers in exploring suitable financial solutions for their purchase.
Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with customers through excellent communication and after-sales service.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, providing timely feedback to the Sales Director to inform sales strategies.
Collaborate with Sales Specialists and other departments when required to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Apply principles of retail merchandising to enhance showroom presentation and customer engagement.
Assist in planning stock reorders with the Sales Manager to capitalize on seasonal demand and manufacturer promotions.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the showroom and display areas.
Provide accurate and timely processing of sales documentation, including invoicing and warranty registrations.
Liaise closely with the Service Department to coordinate machine preparation and Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs).
Evaluate the profitability of various showroom segments, including product categories and display layouts.
Participate in a Saturday morning rota, providing customer support and maintaining showroom service continuity.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience in a retail sales environment is preferred; prior exposure to groundcare or horticultural machinery is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to customer service and sales.
Confidence in using digital sales tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Flexibility to support events and other depots as required.
A genuine interest in machinery and a willingness to continually develop product knowledge.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
