We are looking for an experienced Shunter to join our Transport team in Bodmin. This is a critical role ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trailers on-site, supporting operational compliance and maintaining the highest safety standards. Requirements

Class 1 Licence

(endorsement-free; max 3 points)

Valid Driver CPC

2+ years' HGV/Shunting experience

Completed

Shunt/Tug Training

Knowledge of

driver hours rules & Working Time Directive

Key Skills

: Safe vehicle handling, strong safety awareness, attention to detail, clear communication, problem-solving and adaptability

What You'll Do

Safely move and park trailers within the yard maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism Perform vehicle/trailer checks and audits Monitor and record trailer temperature, fuel levels, and mains power connections, ensuring compliance with product safety and transport regulations. Report defects or damage promptly Oversee loading and collection processes- verifying that all goods are secured, correctly stored at the required temperature, and prepared for departure in accordance with site protocols Ensure full compliance with DEFRA regulations relating to vehicle hygiene, contamination risk and trailer management. Maintain a clean, safe & compliant site Communicate clearly with drivers and team members Resolve issues calmly and efficiently Adapt to changing workloads and priorities

Shift Pattern

3 over 7 rota (Mon-Wed) 12-hour day shifts Overtime expected to support factory output- 70 bonus per extra shift
