Reporting directly to the Transport Shift Manager at Castle Donington, the purpose of this role is to support the transport department in ensuring the movement of the vehicles on site is controlled and managed safely, in line with site procedures, to ensure trailers are in the correct places to meet the business requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To control all Moran vehicle movements entering and exiting the site.
To ensure that all trailers are put on and pulled of the loading bays in a timely manner.
To check the fridge temperature is set correctly prior to putting a trailer on a bay.
To liaise with the XPO, ARLA and transport teams regarding the trailer/load requirements.
To record the trailer number and the load/route number it has on with the transport office
To record all loaded trailer temperatures on the daily temperature sheet, which is subsequently to be kept on file for audit use for up to 12 months.
To ensure that prior to putting on a bay that tail lifts are in working order and tyres are legal. (This will alleviate some of the tranship issues).
Under no circumstance are you to issue loads to drivers, they must report to the transport office to collect a load.
Do not wear clothing covered in grease in the cabs of vehicles.
To ensure vehicles only move on and off bays on a GREEN LIGHT.
Carry out VOR and Yard Checks
Ensure regular contact with Castle Donington Transport for Loads etc
To ensure you do a full handover to the on-coming Yard Controller, ensuring the information is accurate and up-to-date.

To ensure you follow safe working practices.
To promptly report all accidents and incidents to your line manager.
To assist in accident investigations as necessary.
To ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained.
To adhere to relevant site rules, QEHS policies and procedures including quality procedures, HACCP, safe systems of work and environmental controls.
Please note, spot checks on shunting operations will take place
Hygiene:
To maintain high levels of site hygiene standards in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure work areas are maintained and the company end of day clear desk policy upheld
Communication:
To have excellent communication skills and ability to liaise verbally confidently with employees and customers at all levels.
To keep your Manager up to date with any work issues that may affect deadlines.
Flexibility and Ad-Hoc:
To be flexible to work on a variety of duties as required.
To carry out any other task that is reasonable and within your skill set as business needs dictate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years' experience and a LGV licence
Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Must have driver CPC.
Display a positive "can do" attitude.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Ability to be self-motivating and use initiative.
Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
Able to work with minimum supervision.
