Shunter Driver
Location: Carlton on Trent, NG23 6NT
Working Hours: 7:30m to 4pm Mon - Thurs and 7:30am to 3pm Fri.
Paid hours: 40 hours a week, unpaid breaks of 30 minutes per day.
Pay Rate: 16.50 per hour
JRL Modular are looking for an experienced Shunter Driver for our yard / factory in Carlton on Trent, NG23. This contract is available to start on Thursday 5th December 2025 and is for up to 3 weeks in duration.
Responsibilities
Safely drive the shunt vehicle to transport goods from Site 1 to Site 2 which are 500 yards of each other. Load and unload cargo following safety protocols Assist FLT drivers with loading tasks Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns Performing banksman duties Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
Skills & Attributs Required
Flexible and can work on own initiative Valid Commercial Driving License (CDL) Proven experience as a HGV driver Excellent driving record Ability to drive long distances if required Strong communication skills Physical fitness for loading and unloading cargo Knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws
