We are currently recruiting for Shunter Driver to join Gafoor on permanent basis in a weekly rotating shift as follows:

Monday - Friday from 15:00 - 00:00 / 03:00 (2 breaks x 30 minutes) - 40 - 50h weekly

ABOUT GAFOOR: With over 50 years of customer focused experience Gafoor stands today as one of the UK's long established-reliable poultry processors. Located in Preston, Gafoor is an independently owned family business which operates from a purpose-built modern plant producing fresh-quality, just-in-time chicken for our valued customers. The role: You will work outdoors in the main yard within the premises of our purpose-built modern, fast paced, poultry processing facility, where you will be responsible for on-site trailer movements from the trailer park onto the loading bay and safely back to the lorry park area, ensuring completed in a safe and timely manner to keep the Operations teams running effectively. Duties include but not limited to:

Ensure that the correct procedures are adhered to when coupling and uncoupling' the unit to the trailer and to ensure that the trailer is secure and loaded safely Adhere to yard Health & Safety procedures, pro-actively reporting any potential risks for improvements across the site Diligent in ensuring driver and vehicle checks are completed correctly Ensuring the yard remains clean, tidy and operational at all times Transporting goods, such as food products to customers within a local area using vans Assist with the loading and unloading of trailers with finished goods using a pallet truck You will: Have the ability to work efficiently within a fast paced and pressured environment to ensure the yard and warehouse operation runs as smoothly as possible Self-motivated with a positive attitude and reliable, with a requirement for manual handling Possess excellent communication skills Be able to work as part of a team and independently and flexibility with working hours Qualifications and skills: HGV Licence (Cat CE) Shunting Experience or Forklift Truck Licence are desirable!
