Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled shuttering carpenter/steelworker for a weeks work in Bristol on a National Grid Substation.

As a shuttering carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing various structures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Duties:

- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials according to specifications

- Construct and install shuttering formwork on a substation build

- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects

- Follow safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment

- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

Experience:

- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role

- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools

- Knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices

- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

- Mechanical knowledge for operating machinery and equipment

- Welding skills are a plus

- Familiarity with masonry work is beneficial

- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required

We offer competitive pay based on experience. This is a self-employed role with the opportunity to obtain more work across other sites for future upcoming projects. You must be CSCS registered as the work is on a substation build site.

The correct candidate will also be required to pour concrete therefore experience with this is also desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 200.00-270.00 per day
