Senior / Staff Product Engineer - Automotive Semiconductors | Newport, UK (Hybrid)
A leading semiconductor manufacturer is seeking a Senior / Staff Product Engineer to take ownership of advanced commercial and industrial products within its Automotive MOSFET product line. The role involves end-to-end responsibility across new product introduction, product engineering, and production support -- collaborating globally across R&D, design, packaging, and manufacturing teams.
What you'll be working on
Technical ownership of new and existing advanced automotive and industrial MOSFET products.
Leading new product introductions from definition and development through to characterization, qualification, and release.
Supporting product problem-solving with manufacturing, quality, marketing, and applications teams in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Defining technical presentations and leading communication on product-related issues.
Liaising with wafer fabrication and package assembly teams in Europe and Asia for yield enhancement and quality improvement.
Defining statistical test methods to optimize yield and drive defect reduction programs.
Reviewing electrical and thermal characterization data and formulating device datasheets for new releases.
Supporting cost-reduction programs through engineering evaluations and qualification runs.
What they're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Microelectronics, or a related field.
8+ years of product engineering experience with strong knowledge of discrete power MOS semiconductor devices and trench MOS technologies.
Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects, driving new products from definition to datasheet release.
Experience compiling datasheets using electrical and thermal product data.
Strong background in product and process problem-solving using statistical data analytics and yield management software.
Experience supporting facility-to-facility product transfers across wafer and package operations.
Familiarity with MOSFET ATE wafer and package test methods is advantageous.
Experience working with and leading offshore product engineering teams across Europe, Asia, and the US.
Familiar with 8D and FMEA processes.
Willingness to travel to offshore sites as required.
