Role: Sign Maker / Exhibition Standfitter

Location: Alcester

Salary 12.50 - 14.00 per hour Depending on experience

Hours: 36.25 hours a week - 09.00 -17.00 with 45 minute break (During the busy months of the exhibition season, you will be required to work evenings and weekends including starting before 9am)

Exhibition Equipment are a leading UK exhibition, trade show and conference contractor. We design, manufacture and hire exhibition stands, furniture and graphics across the UK and Europe, as well as undertaking work on behalf of show organisers. Withour signage division Kickstart Signs we manufacture and install a wide range of signage and graphics for the education sector.

Job Role

Reporting to the Directors you will be assisting in the production of exhibition stands, graphics and providing vital assistance in the provision of services to event organisers. Travelling to site to carry out installations and deliveries at venues across the UK Cleaning and maintaining items of furniture, glass display cases and other stock equipment including audio visual items to an exceptional standard. Working on various machines to produce items as required - summa f series flat bed cutter, roll over table, line bending, flame polishing, cross cut saws, up cut saws, Large Foprmat Printers Delivering stands and furniture to site as required including fitting graphics Driving 3.5 tonne vans Ensuring adherence to all latest relevant Health and Safety legislation as required Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment Communicating with other members of staff relating to work that you are doing effectively. Manufacturing sign trays, post and rail signs, monoliths, flat cut lettering, vinyl decals

Skill set for an Exhibition Stand Fitter

You must have some practical abilities and be able to undertake hands on activities including having an understanding of a trade - either electrical or carpentry would be preferred. This would ideally include past experience producing work in the events, exhibitions, or shopfitting industry experience working a sign shop or signage production facility Excellent communication skills Would be flexible, adaptable, happy to work away on site and keen to learn Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines within a fast paced environment Computer literate A keen eye for attention to detail, quality and excellent customer service skills Interested in driving things forward within a small team of people and prepared to get stuck in to all areas of the business Clean driving license and experience driving 3.5 tonne vans including Lutons is essential. You must also live within 30 minutes of our factory address - due to the long nature of our working days it is not practical for employees to have additional travel time of more than an hour each day to and from work.
Location:

Primarily based in our Alcester factory - Arden Road, Alcester, B49 6HN - subsequently out on site around the UK as required.

Working Hours / Further Details:

Your working week during 'exhibition season' will average around 46 - 50 hours per week (be aware that due to the nature of the industry you will at times be required to work longer hours, evenings and weekends in order to manage and complete the workloads as mentioned above)

During busy periods you will be expected to work additional hours subject to the requirements of the business. Annual holiday is 28 days pro rata including bank holidays (bank holidays account for 8 days). An annual factory shutdown at Christmas accounts for 3-4 days
