About the role

As our Site Acquisitions Director, you will lead the identification and acquisition of sites for our EV charging stations. You will most likely be a Chartered Surveyor (or similar) and have a network of contacts within the professional property world, most likely within Chartered Surveyors, Land Agents, Land Owners and Developers. You will build a nationwide Site Acquisition capability, most likely using Site Acquisition Agents supported by an Internal Team of professionals. Working closely with our Sales, Operations, EV Services and Legal teams, this role will identify locations for Chargers, negotiate land and lease agreements, and secure necessary permits for installations. Your strategic decisions will drive the growth and accessibility of our charging network. Within the role, we will be looking for someone who will be responsible for:

  • Identification, appraisal and securitisation of opportunities which deliver our rollout strategy
  • Evaluation of sites based on technical, regulatory and financial feasibility (including regulation, environmental impacts and access to other utility)
  • Developing a network of local land agents, with specific focuses or regions, as well as key business partners who have access to a good range of prospective sites.
  • Support the wider sales team in in their sales through the relationships they hold with local businesses, local authorities and landowners.
  • Meeting with landowners & agencies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, property owners, agents and industry partners
  • Proactively pursue business opportunities, including off-grid partnerships to increase site portfolio
  • Negotiation of site availability to secure exclusive rights and secure terms of prospective development sites
  • Secure leases, easements and other agreements
  • Negotiation, alongside commercial & finance, of agree wayleave & access agreements
  • Project management of the deal through cross functional teams of lawyers and project managers to ensure smooth project execution
  • Awareness of regulatory compliance; staying up to date with land use regulations across the UK. Ensure all projects meet necessary requirements.
  • Ensuring initial cost-benefit analysis is complete across all projects to ensure viability.
  • Monitoring project budgets related to acquisition & ensure cost optimisation is recommended.
  • Monitor industry trends and any emerging opportunities across the sector to identify growth areas across the group.

  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with GIS software and other site selection tools will be advantageous, allowing you to make data-driven decisions.

Location

The business is currently based in our offices in Southwark. The position will have flexibility, but expected to be on site and in the office when required.
