Site Assistant/Minibus Driver - Romsey/Totton/Shirley/Gosport

36.25 hours per week, Term-time only (39 weeks)

Working hours - Monday to Friday 8.00am to 3.45pm

Grade D - 23,342.88 to 25,683.13 Actual Annual Salary

27,779 to 30,564 FTE

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, hardworking and reliable Site Assistant/Minibus Driver to join our Trust to do a split role supporting the school drop off/pick up for The Romsey School alongside working on various school sites providing a clean and safe environment for all school users.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude, reliable, hardworking, good communication skills, show initiative, be confident to work alone and be responsible for the students that are being transported.?

The role requires to complete the school pick up run in the morning starting at 8.00am and then on return to school, carry out routine site assistant tasks during the day at the requested school and then undertake the drop off run in the afternoon from 2.45pm.?

The regular School route?is to collect pupils from Oakfield Academy,?Sylvia Crescent,?Totton and bring them to The Romsey School, Greatbridge Road, Romsey.??

You can expect every day to be varied and busy as you support our staff and pupils by providing a safe, secure and well-maintained school environment.

This dual role involves transporting students to and from school in a minibus, carrying out daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is clean and roadworthy and refuelling the vehicle as required. Working within health and safety guidelines and maintaining accurate records of students using the service is essential to the role. Attendance is required at any relevant training courses.

Team working is an essential skill in this role as well as being able to demonstrate your ability to work independently with the direction of the Site Manager in line with the School's vision. A good communicator, you'll have skills to ensure the maintenance, upkeep and development of the school buildings and its infrastructure to required compliancy and cleanliness standards.

You will have a strong enthusiasm to work in a school environment and will have relevant experience including basic DIY skills. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience in a similar role; Hold a valid UK driving licence; Hold a MIDAS certificate (although training is provided if you do not already have this); Have D1 on their licence which is desirable, but not essential; Hold a First aid certificate?(although training is provided if you do not already have this); Be reliable and a good timekeeper; Safely transport students on a designated route to and from school Hold responsibility for the safeguarding of students; Ensuring the safety of all students travelling on the minibus and to ensure all are wearing seat belts Advising the schools Site Manager of any issue occurring on the minibus during transporting of students or any damage after a drive Conduct the required vehicle safety checks before and after use. Ensure the designated minibus has adequate fuel to complete each journey and enough should the minibus be needed during the day by the school. Keep the inside of the designated minibus clean and tidy. Promote and represent the school in a positive manner. Have good DIY skills and be happy to work on a wide range of tasks to ensure our grounds and buildings are maintained to a high standard. Be happy to work both inside and out, alongside and under the direction of our Site Manager's Have pride in their working environment and want the best for our pupils Have a "can do" attitude and a willingness to learn new skills Always maintain health and safety standards Carry out the compliance checks as required (Full training provided) Have basic computer skills (training can be provided) Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.
