Site Electrician

Job Description

Due to ongoing growth and investment, we're looking for a proactive and experienced Site Electrician to join our team at Arclid Quarry, a leading sand extraction site near Sandbach, Cheshire.

In this hands-on role, you'll report directly to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment essential to the smooth running of quarry operations. This role requires strict adherence to current legislation and full compliance with the company's Safety, Health, Environment and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities



Carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in line with current legislation Inspect electrical components (e.g. circuit breakers, switches) to identify faults or potential hazards Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing tools and techniques Interpret and work from technical drawings, diagrams and blueprints Conduct routine safety checks and preventative maintenance, ensuring systems operate reliably and records are accurately maintained Collaborate effectively with contractors and other site personnel to support operational needs Provide informed advice on repair costs, replacements and ongoing maintenance requirements Adhere to and actively contribute to the company's Safety, Health, Environment and Quality procedures Install and upgrade electrical systems, including PLCs Respond swiftly to breakdowns to minimise disruption and maintain productivity Ensure full compliance with health and safety protocols, including safe isolation and permit-to-work procedures Maintain detailed records of all electrical maintenance and inspection activities Support project work, including new system installations and continuous improvement initiatives Promote and uphold a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues

What We're Looking For



Minimum of a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) Up-to-date certification in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Proven experience working in industrial or heavy plant environments -- quarrying experience is highly desirable Strong awareness of health and safety practices and procedures Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a positive, can-do attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships Eagerness to learn, grow and develop within the role Full UK driving licence

Tuesday to Friday: 7:00am - 4:00pm Saturday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
