An experienced maintenance fabricator/fitter is required to undertake a Team-Leader/Supervisor role, within our busy High Peak based team.

Applicants should be experienced and/or time-served in general fabrication/maintenance practices, including cutting, grinding, drilling and welding. The role combines hands-on practical tasks, along with supporting senior management with tasks including:

supervising operatives with daily tasks, ensuring quality and performance levels are maintained. ensuring Health and Safety compliance. coordinating operatives to ensure taks are completed on schedule. acting as point of contact with customer engineers/managers. assisting Project Managers with estimating future projects.
Previous management experience is preferred and good communications skills are essential. The role is flexible and can be tailored around candidates either with suitable experience or with the correct motivation and attitude to succeed. Training and support are available to supplement existing skills and develop the right candidate (where experience is limited).

Experience of heavy industry, including work at heights, confined spaces working, mobile platforms/access and following Safe Working Systems is preferred, although training will be provided where required.

The role is predominantly site-based (travelling in company vehicles) at various locations in Derbyshire, Sth Yorkshire and occasionally further afield. We also have a workshop and office facility in New Mills (SK22), where you may occasionally be required to work and attend meetings.

Hours of work are 45/week, with regular overtime available and the option of joining a 24-hour weekend/holiday call-out service (after a successful trial period). Rates of pay are competitive, based on experience and skills.
