Westdale Midlands Ltd are a specialised construction company undertaking refurbishment works on social housing properties on behalf of Councils & Housing associations in the Aberystwyth area. These works include External Wall Insulation (EWI) installations (our core trade), re-roofing works, replacement windows and doors and ancillary works as well as some internal works on some projects.
Our sites are all managed by a management cell comprising of a Site Manager, a Tenant Liaison Officer and a Site Facilitator, so the successful candidate will need to work as part of his/her team, also interfacing with the operatives and sub-contractors undertaking the refurbishment works. We work on occupied premises, so respectful and exemplary conduct on site is of paramount importance.
The site facilitator will be required to drive the site company vehicle to collect materials from suppliers, to move materials to the relevant properties just-in-time, remove waste and residual materials from the properties at the end of the day and assisting with off-loading material deliveries to the site compound. They will also be required to assist the site manager in making sure the right equipment is on site for the works, safely stored away and that the site is clean, tidy, safe and secure. Assist in: stock management, offloading materials deliveries and ensuring materials are secured, both on site and in the compound.
Our Site Facilitators are usually accredited with CSCS card, Asbestos Awareness, First Aid training and Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme SSSTS, but these are not essential for applicants, as we can arrange this training and accreditation. This enables the Site Facilitator to assist the Site Manager with End of Day safety checks, ladder removals when scaffold not in use and other safety matters.
We have in-house Health & Safety Managers who work with the site managers and site facilitators to advise and assist in safety matters.
Site Facilitators need to have a full clean driving licence to use the company vehicle to facilitate this position and some experience of driving vans and pick-ups is desirable.
To summarise, to fulfil this role effectively, we are looking for a candidate with a driving licence, physically able to carry out some manual handling, good Health & Safety awareness and working practices, good communication skills and works well as part of a team.
We are an equal opportunities company, with zero tolerance for bullying and abusive behaviour.
