We are looking for a hands-on site facilities lead to oversee the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and smooth running of our industrial manufacturing site in Plymouth. The role will ensure buildings, site infrastructure, and equipment are maintained to a high standard, creating a safe, reliable, and efficient working environment. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, this role supports compliance but is primarily centred around facilities upkeep and contractor management.
Role & Responsibilities:

Carry out and oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of site infrastructure, including:
Industrial equipment (Production and non-production critical)
Office blocks, canteens, washrooms, and communal areas
Plan and deliver preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and disruption.
Coordinate and supervise external contractors for services such as:
Pest control
PAT testing
Grounds maintenance
Waste management and recycling
Other facilities-related contracts as required
Ensure facilities and equipment issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
Monitor the condition of buildings and site services, raising recommendations for improvements.
Support the Health & Safety Manager by ensuring facilities meet compliance needs (e.g. accessibility, fire systems, emergency equipment).
Manage maintenance budgets and provide input on cost-effective solutions.
Be the main point of contact for facilities-related queries across the site.
Requirements
Practical facilities management or site maintenance experience, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong organisational skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Experience coordinating and managing external contractors.
Basic understanding of health & safety requirements, with the ability to support compliance activities led by the H&S Manager.
Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with suppliers.
Desirable
Trade background (electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance) would be an asset.
IOSH Managing Safely or similar (desirable but not essential).

Pay: 30,000.00-34,000.00 per year
