Straight-Line Civils are hiring a CDM Coordinator / Principal Designer with Site Management responsibilities for a global construction company expanding its UK presence.
This hybrid role involves supporting CDM and Health & Safety across 12 active UK sites, working closely with both design and delivery teams, and ensuring compliance from pre-construction through to completion. You will be the key point of contact for CDM matters while also taking responsibility for on-site management and inspections as required.

Key Responsibilities
Lead on CDM and Health & Safety across all project stages, ensuring compliance and offering expert guidance to project teams.
Prepare and maintain CDM documentation including Pre-Construction Information, Design Risk Registers, Tender Info Packs, and Construction Phase Plans.
Conduct on-site inductions, daily briefings, and ensure RAMS are reviewed and approved.
Manage and attend stakeholder meetings, site visits, and audits to drive safety and design risk improvements.
Compile Site Inspection Reports and Health & Safety Files.
Coordinate documentation and ensure it is accurately stored and updated across all sites.
Liaise with clients and design teams to ensure design risks are mitigated and client duties are fulfilled.
Requirements
Experience in both CDM coordination and on-site management roles.
Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CDM 2015, and Health & Safety law.
Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings (AutoCAD experience desirable).
Able to manage design risk and support design teams in applying client pre-construction information.
SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work certification.
Familiarity with managing high-risk construction activities (e.g. work at height).
Comfortable managing administrative controls and site documentation.
Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
Salary:
50,000-60,000 (DOE)
