Aspen Ireland Building Company is a respected construction and fit-out contractor based in Holywood, County Down. We deliver a wide range of high-quality building projects across the residential, commercial and healthcare sectors throughout Northern Ireland. The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of construction activities on-site, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong organisational and communication skills, capable of managing subcontractors, liaising with clients, and maintaining full compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities



Manage all site operations from mobilisation through to completion and handover. Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and direct labour. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards. Develop and monitor construction programmes, sequencing, and daily site progress. Chair and record regular site meetings with project stakeholders. Manage site documentation including method statements, risk assessments, permits, and daily reports. Coordinate delivery and storage of materials and equipment. Ensure works are completed to specification, quality standards, and programme deadlines. Identify potential delays, risks, or issues and implement corrective actions promptly. Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the wider project team. Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement on-site.

Essential Criteria



Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Manager (or similar supervisory role) within the construction industry. Proven track record of managing commercial, residential, or healthcare projects from start to finish. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. Thorough understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications. Demonstrable commitment to health and safety best practice. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure. Competent in using Microsoft Office and construction management software. Valid CSR (Construction Skills Register) Gold Card or equivalent. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites as required.

Desirable Criteria



HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management or related discipline. IOSH Managing Safely certification. Experience with design & build projects or fit-out contracts. Experience in reinforced concrete frame construction. Familiarity with NI building regulations and local authority standards.
