to join our expanding shop fitting and joinery manufacturing business.
This position is for 8-12 hour shifts per day Monday-Friday, overtime will be available occasionally.
Our office and workshop is based in Portsmouth but you will be required to travel to sites Nationwide. Rates of pay to be discussed, depending on experience.
The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing bespoke joinery and interior Fit-Out projects on site, ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. As well as occasionally being on the tools themselves.
This role requires a technically skilled and proactive individual who can read complex drawings, manage site teams and subcontractors whilst maintaining a culture of precision, safety and professionalism on every project.
Main Responsibilities will include:
Site Management
Oversee day-to-day operations on site, ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and programme.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and supervise site staff, including installers, apprentices and subcontractors.
Allocate work based on team members skill levels and monitor quality and productivity.
Liaise with the Contracts Manager, clients and other trades to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Promote a professional site culture that reflects company values and high workmanship standards.
Health & Safety
Ensure full compliance with all site health and safety regulations.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments and regular safety inspections.
Enforce the correct use of PPE, branded workwear and safe working practices at all times.
Identify and address any potential hazards promptly.
Quality Control
Monitor all installations to ensure they meet design intent and technical specifications.
Inspect materials and components upon delivery, ensuring they are correct and undamaged.
Ensure installations are scribed, levelled and adjusted accurately for a seamless finish.
Maintain a tidy, organised and safe working environment throughout all stages of the project.
Problem Solving & Communication
Identify and resolve on-site challenges swiftly to keep the project on programme.
Provide constructive feedback to the Contracts Manager and setting-out team on potential improvements or design efficiencies.
Plan, coordinate and monitor installation activities for bespoke joinery, solid surface, glazing, and metalwork components.
Review site conditions ahead of installation to identify potential issues and ensure smooth delivery.
Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and progress updates for management.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills and experience:
Proven experience as a Site Manager or senior installer within joinery, shopfitting or interior Fit-Out.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, bespoke joinery construction and installation methods.
Excellent leadership, organisation and interpersonal skills.
Strong commitment to safety, quality and precision.
Confident decision-maker able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Proficient in the use of power and hand tools when required.
CSCS card and SSSTS qualification is essential; SMSTS qualification desirable.
PASMA and First aid qualifications desirable.
Be willing to travel to various project sites across the UK as well as working away for periods of time.
Full UK Driving licence.
