About The

role



The Site Manager will oversee caretaking and cleaning services at their designated campus, providing line management to Caretakers and Cleaning Supervisors while also contributing directly to daily site operations. The role acts as the first point of contact for estates issues at campus level, escalating where appropriate to the Campus Operations Manager.

Main Responsibilities



Line manage Caretakers and Cleaning Supervisors, providing direction, support, rotas, cover arrangements and performance management.


Contribute directly to daily site operations, including opening/closing, room setups, porterage, event/exam support, and minor repairs.


Monitor cleaning and caretaking standards on site, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for staff and students.


Undertake regular campus inspections, addressing issues promptly and escalating building defects to the Estates Maintenance Manager.


Deploy staff resources effectively, ensuring sufficient cover across shifts and during peak periods.


Manage ordering and stock control for cleaning and caretaking supplies, ensuring efficient use of budgets.


Liaise with staff, students, contractors and visitors, providing a prompt, customer-focused response to site-based estates issues.


Ensure all site-based duties are carried out in line with Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH, manual handling and safe systems of work.


Support emergency procedures at campus level, including fire evacuations, lockdowns and incident response.


Contribute to business continuity planning and implementation at campus level.

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between 28,207 - 32,917 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
