We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Yeovil.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Plan project work and oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
Manage staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
Supervise day-to-day construction activities, including quality control and site inspections.
Monitor project progress, set benchmarks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Review design documents in collaboration with architects, engineers, and surveyors.
Promote and enforce Health & Safety and Environmental standards, including site inspections.
Create, review, and amend Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required.
Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to report progress.
Keep accurate site records, including diaries, reports, and client updates.
Manage project-specific traffic plans and logistics.
Complete all required administrative tasks and use company management systems effectively.
Address unexpected issues on-site and escalate to higher management when necessary.
Undertake additional tasks as required to support project success.
Requirements:
Proven experience in site supervision or Black Hat Supervisor role.
Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, professionals, and site operatives.
Leadership skills with the ability to motivate your team and ensure high standards of work.
Excellent planning and organisational skills to monitor project plans and utilise time and resources effectively.
Resilience and problem-solving abilities to overcome unexpected challenges and make decisions under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.
Sound awareness of Health & Safety procedures, legislation, and environmental compliance.
Good commercial awareness.
Competent in maths and IT skills relevant to site management.
Knowledge of relevant building methods and construction techniques
Full UK driving licence.
Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting.
First Aid at Work desirable
