Site Operative

to join our growing team.

Role Overview

As a Site Operative with

BFS Nationwide

, you'll play a key role in the installation of large diameter plastic pipes and chambers, ranging from 1m to 3.5m in diameter. Working as part of a 2-3 person crew, you'll carry out welding and fitting both above and below ground at various sites across the UK.

You'll also assist with occasional

factory-based fabrication

, helping to assemble and weld chambers and components before they are shipped to customers or taken to site.

This is a

hands-on, travel-based role

, often requiring overnight stays during the working week.

Travel, accommodation, and meals are fully covered

while working away.

What You'll Do

Weld large diameter plastic pipe systems on construction sites Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively Work in

medium-risk confined spaces

as required Assist with

fault-finding

, maintenance, and repair of plastic pipe systems Perform

fabrication and assembly

of components in our factory as needed Carry out regular equipment and vehicle checks (where applicable) Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others Represent BFS Nationwide professionally at all times

What We're Looking For

CSCS card

(essential - we can help arrange certification if needed)

Confined space certification

(desirable - training available) Comfortable using hand tools and power tools Mechanical aptitude for basic maintenance and problem-solving Experience in construction, utilities, or manufacturing/fabrication preferred Willingness to travel and work away from home (Monday-Friday typical)
