Railscape is seeking an experienced Site Waste, Recycling & Roadcrew Supervisor to oversee our waste yard, roadcrew, and valeting operations at the Eurotunnel terminal. The role is hands-on and operational, with responsibility for daily supervision, compliance, vehicle inspections, and continuous improvement across waste and recycling activities.
Responsibilities
Supervise the day-to-day operation of the waste, recycling, roadcrew, and valeting teams on site
Audit waste and recycling operations across the site to ensure consistently high standards of service delivery by internal teams and external waste collection operatives
Monitor quality, compliance, and workmanship, addressing poor performance and escalating issues where required
Ensure all works are accurately recorded, including the capture of before and after photographs, and uploaded into Railscape's bespoke works completion reporting system.
Review work completion submissions to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client and company reporting requirements
Book and coordinate skip and compactor exchanges, collections, and deliveries, ensuring allocated delivery slots
Plan and monitor waste collections across the UK terminal
Control the issue, return, and accuracy of all waste transfer notes and associated documentation
Complete monthly waste returns and submit daily waste sheets to site security
Drive improvements in recycling performance and implement new initiatives to support continuous improvement
Undertake routine inspections of company vehicles, plant, and equipment
Ensure daily and weekly vehicle health checks are completed and defects reported
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the yard and work areas
Promote a positive safety culture and best-practice approach across all teams
Assist with winter maintenance activities, including preventative actions and coordination of snow clearance
Support operational duties when required, including road sweeping, litter picking, bin emptying, and valeting.
Requirements
Strong health and safety awareness
Proven experience supervising staff within waste, recycling, logistics, or a similar operational environment
Strong organisational and communication skills
Experience working in a reactive, public-facing or safety-critical environment
Good IT skills, including data entry and reporting
Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement or acquired rights (LGV 3.5-7.5t)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 14.00-15.00 per hour
