About the Role



We are seeking an experienced

Site Supervisor

with a strong background in

earthworks, materials testing, and field quality control

to oversee daily operations on active construction sites. The successful candidate will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all technical specifications and testing standards.

Key Responsibilities



Supervise and coordinate earthworks activities including excavation, backfilling, compaction, grading, and site preparation. Oversee on-site materials testing (e.g., compaction tests, soil density, moisture content, CBR, and other geotechnical field tests). Ensure all testing is completed according to project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. Communicate test results to project managers, engineers, and contractors, and implement corrective actions where required. Maintain accurate daily records including test reports, site diaries, progress updates, and safety documentation. Monitor site operations for compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations. Coordinate with subcontractors, equipment operators, and suppliers to maintain efficient site operations. Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Assist in resolving site issues and technical challenges as they arise.

Qualifications & Skills



Minimum 3-5 years of experience in earthworks supervision or civil construction. Experience with field testing such as Standard Proctor, Nuclear Density Gauge (NDG), or other soil/aggregate testing methods. Strong knowledge of earthworks specifications, compaction standards, and geotechnical principles. Certification in materials testing (e.g., NICET, ISO/IANZ, CMT) considered an asset. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and test reports. Proficient with basic computer tools (Microsoft Office, site reporting apps, etc.). Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
