You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

The opportunity

We're recruiting for students to join our Supply Chain Industrial Placement programme at our Suffolk offices.


Taking on a real job at a junior level, you'll have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues.

What we're looking for

Discipline in Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or Geography. A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference. An interest in working in major nuclear and infrastructure programmes. We will need you to be open minded, flexible and have an agile way of thinking to succeed in a dynamic fast paced project environment. Having a strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas. Effective interpersonal skills are key, as well as being able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character. Effective communication skills will be required to manage your stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.

What You Will Be Doing

Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the energy industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You'll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree.


Previous students on a Supply Chain Industrial Placement have been involved in projects such as:

Supporting procurement processes from expression of interest to contract award. Supporting the contract management of projects in a portfolio of work, undertaking activities such as the assessment of applications for payments and change control. Providing commercial support to the project management team in the effective delivery of contracts. Reporting commercial data to senior leaders in the business.

Security Vetting

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting.

The Sizewell C team is one of the most exciting and largest new megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. We have begun constructing a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast in the East of England replicating, wherever possible, the design used for Hinkley Point C, another nuclear power station being built in Somerset.


When built, Sizewell C will be one of the largest power stations to operate in the UK. The power station will generate low carbon electricity for at least 60 years, supplying over 6 million homes and supporting around 7% of the UK's current electricity needs.
