PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
In this role, you will work with BBC journalists to bring their first-class journalism to digital audiences by writing, editing, producing and signing-off text stories. You will work with a range of journalists in News, World Service, Current Affairs, Factual and elsewhere, across a spectrum of story types, from investigations to reportage, news stories to immersive features. The essence of the job is shaping, editing and producing high-profile text articles for promotion on the front page of the News website.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
The Digital Editing team is a small, highly productive and supportive team. You will join other senior journalists and be led by an assistant editor. Specialising in investigations, we take pride in bringing some of the best BBC journalism to the top slots of the News website. The stories we work on are read by millions of people and often have real-world impact. The team helps correspondents and reporters tell their stories in the best way possible for a digital audience - whether that be drawing-out sharp, impactful news lines, or guiding readers through a complicated subject with the help of a personal case study. We work a hybrid pattern across the week Monday to Friday, sometimes working late or at weekends when deadlines demand.
