Responsibilities:

Purpose of the Job - To manufacture a variation of aerospace hardwarei.e. out of production spares pressurised fuselage bodies. Flyingcontrol surfaces and short haul passenger and freighter aircraft. Toensure all hardware is built in accordance with CAA, AQUAP, MOD and USAirforce Specification. To give customer satisfaction within budget andto time delivery. Pincipal Accountabilities to ensure all drawings,drawing office queries and engineering process records are of correctissue before build commences. Check all hand tools and test equipment iswithin life requirements Physically check all kit parts to drawingschedule and effectivity to ensure EPR drawing and kit format arecompatible. Prior to starting test build etc., ensure all safetyequipment is used and that any potential hazard is eliminated. All stageinspection should be cleared by W.I.D. Approved Operators carrying outthis task shall ensure work is of the highest standard. Fitters whohave been identified as modular trainers will assist and impart theirknowledge and skill to sub-contractors, electricians and apprenticesworking with them at all times. Operators manudacture hardware built andtest engines and systems to the highest standard possible to meet budgetand on time delivery. Keep and maintain a safe and healthy environment.Job Context and Consent - The production fitter has to be a highlyskilled and motivated individual who must be mobile as and whenoperational requirements and priorities change. They must read andunderstand EPRs and drawing. Know the use of query forms and concessionsand read the relevant information. Be aware of safety procedures andhazards. Understand the importance of quality procedures and maintainsame. Understand the use of and use various types of drills andprecision reamers to the size and drawing requirements, tolerances of.0000 are often the requirement. Read all aspects of the drawings andtransfer information by measurement and marking and by using suitabletools to achieve drawing tolerances. Liaison with technicians is aneveryday occurence to obtain guidance of tools/drawings etc. Workingwith and training other trades is also a requirement which makes us moreefficient and generates a good working atmosphere. Our Fitters build,fit out, equip and prepare the aircraft for first flight.
