We are currently seeking HGV drivers to join our busy team at our Bedlington depot in Northumberland.

Duties

Transport skips via skip wagon to different addresses and through different routes

Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate skip wagon

Operate a handheld PDA system

Complete daily worksheets and logs.

Follow health and safety standards

Comply with driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

Report accidents and violations

Complete a full safety defect on vehicles before operating.

Skills/experience

Excellent driving skills

Road safety knowledge

Excellent communication skills

A minimum of a class C license

An up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card

A digital tacho card with a good knowledge of tachograph legislation/laws.

Experience is desirable but not essential, as full inhouse and on the job training will be provided to the successful candidates to enhance their skills and knowledge of the waste industry and the company.

Uniform and PPE will be provided

Contract

Permanent with 6-month probation period

Hours of work

Mon - Fri between 6:15am and 5:30pm, Saturdays 7:30am -12pm

Holidays

30 days including bank holidays

Salary

12.87 for first 40 Hours, overtime rate of 19.30 per hour, Daily attendance (2 per day) and Skip Movement bonuses. Paid breaks.
