Are you a highly motivated individual looking to start or expand your aquaculture career? Wester Ross Salmon, part of the Mowi Scotland group, are currently looking to employ a skipper to work onboard our vessel, the Bradan na Mara. The vessel will provide valuable service to our seawater sites located across the North West Coast of Scotland, predominantly within our Wester Ross Area. The role is challenging, but ultimately very rewarding and can lead to a variety of fulfilling career progression opportunities.

two week on/two week
off
rotational basis, providing an excellent work/life balance opportunity. Accommodation on the vessel is provided whilst on shift.
About the job
This role is a crucial part of the operations process. We need our employees to strive for continuous improvement. The job includes, but is not limited to:
Maintaining the vessel to a high standard, ensuring full compliance with MCA workboat code and certification
Working closely with Farm Managers to provide the most efficient service between sites
Ensuring safe working practices at all times
Maintaining and managing the vessel's engines, machinery, and equipment.
Harvesting and passive grading
Ensuring high bio-security levels are maintained and records are kept up-to-date
Other general farm duties as required
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have an interest in the aquaculture industry and be willing to learn. They will be willing to expand their understanding and work hard on the job. The successful candidate will have:
Appropriate certification for operating vessels up to 24 meters, both day and night
You will be required to hold, or able to obtain, and retain an ML5 or ENG1 medical certificate
RYA Commercial Endorsement or STCW certification
IOSH Managing Safely Certification
Net washing experience
Work flexibly to meet the demands of the job
Positive approach to this type of work
Drivers licence is essential. No driving licence? We can help you with the cost of lessons.
