We are currently looking for sleep in staff for our small residential home in Meads, Eastbourne.
The role would consist of helping residents to bed between 9-10pm. You would the be able to sleep from 10pm-6am and may have to get up for half an hour to assist the other night staff with personal care and pad changes. You are then able to go back to sleep till 6am before helping residents get up till 9am. You will be paid our carer wages for hours worked and 35 for the sleep in.
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to individuals in both care homes and home care settings. Your primary responsibility will be to support clients with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans effectively while maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support clients with mobility and physical activities to promote independence.
Help with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Follow individual care plans tailored to each client's needs.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety standards.
Skills
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience in care home or home care settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining records and documentation is beneficial.
Empathy and patience when dealing with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Understanding of how to implement care plans effectively for individual client needs.
