Skilled Operative
The Role
To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high level of safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Understand all relevant risk and method statements
Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out
Checks are conducted on equipment that may be used
Installing drainage, laying concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carrying out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials
Ensure a safe, tidy place of work
Implement best practice procedures
Maximise use of own working time
Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns
Feedback to site management with near-miss reporting
Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks
About you
Essential
Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
CSCS card
Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler
Desirable
SSSTS/SMSTS
day environmental awareness
NRSWA
