Job Description

We are seeking reliable and dedicated Small Parcel Delivery Drivers to join our team delivering around the Fylde Coast.

You will use your own vehicle for this role.

We have routes available in Blackpool, Poulton, Bispham, Thornton, Cleveleys, South Shore, St. Anne's, Lytham and Fleetwood. You will be responsible for collecting small parcels from our depot near Poulton-le-Fylde and delivering them in your area - ensuring timely and safe delivery. You will deliver on the same route every day. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and good customer service.

Training will be provided with an experienced team member.

Pay

You will be paid 90p per parcel stop delivered. Once fully trained you should expect to deliver 115-130 parcel stops a day, earning 103.5 minimum. The more you deliver, the more you earn. You will receive a monthly fuel allowance on top of your basic pay.

Terms

You will be self-employed. All payments made to you will be without deductions of things like National Insurance and income tax, for which you are responsible.

Working Hours

The role is currently Tuesday to Friday (it may expand to Mondays in the future). Start time is flexible between 9:45-10:45am arrival at the Poulton-le-Fylde depot. Working hours may vary based on the location of your round, and the amount of parcels that particular round generates. On average a courier works approximately 6 hours a day. Once fully trained you should deliver around 20-25 parcels per hour.

Duties

- Sort and load parcels for your route into your own vehicle.

- Drive your own vehicle to transport goods to designated locations on the Fylde Coast.

- Load and unload products, ensuring safe handling of items during transit and following all procedures.

- Communicate effectively with others in the team, warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.

.- Maintain accurate records of deliveries.

- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.

Requirements

- Your own vehicle with relevant insurance.

- A smart phone with camera to scan parcels and photograph on delivery.

- DBS check required.

- Based on the Fylde Coast or knowledge of this area.

- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in commercial driving is advantageous.

- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.

- Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns is advantageous.

- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer service.

- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

- As you will be lifting and carrying parcels (max weight 15 kg) and getting in and out of your vehicle many times each day a good level of physical fitness is essential.
