We are seeking an experienced

Small Works / Service Manager

to oversee small works projects, manage service operations, and lead engineers to ensure excellent customer service, compliance, and operational efficiency.

This is a key role combining technical oversight, people management, and customer-facing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities



Small Works & Installations



Manage and coordinate service, small works and minor installation projects from quotation through to completion Plan labour, materials, and schedules to ensure works are delivered on time and within budget Carry out site surveys where required and support accurate system design and costing Ensure installations meet company standards, client specifications, and relevant regulations

Service & Maintenance Management



Oversee day-to-day service operations, including reactive call-outs and planned maintenance Manage allocation of work to engineers efficiently and monitor job progress and completion Ensure service levels and response times are met or exceeded Support fault diagnosis and provide technical guidance to engineers

Team Leadership & Support



Manage, motivate, and support a team of administrators and engineers. Conduct tool-box talks, performance reviews, and ongoing skills development Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and customer service

Customer & Commercial Management



Act as a key point of contact for customers, building strong long-term relationships Handle escalations, complaints, and technical queries professionally and efficiently Assist with pricing, variations, and upselling service or upgrade opportunities Support contract renewals and client retention

Compliance & Quality



Ensure all works comply with industry standards (e.g. NSI/SSAIB, BS EN standards where applicable) Maintain accurate job records, service reports, and certification Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Skills & Experience



Essential



Proven experience in fire and security systems installation and service management Strong technical knowledge of CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, fire alarms and related systems Experience managing engineers and coordinating workloads Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities simultaneously Full UK driving licence

Desirable



Experience in a similar role within a small-to-medium security company Knowledge of NSI or SSAIB standards and compliance requirements Quotation and costing experience for small works Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. electrical or security systems related)
