This role will play a key part in designing and engineering integrated propulsion systems across MHEV, PHEV, and potentially BEV platforms, ensuring system-level performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop logical and physical solution domains within the propulsion system engineering layer.
Create and manage system artifacts including logical architecture diagrams, functional failure analysis, test case mapping, and requirements cascades.
Develop and deliver functional statements of capability and intent for new propulsion features.
Design experiments (DoE), build test cases, and analyze CAE and physical test data to validate systems.
Resolve complex system compatibility and integration issues across subsystems.
Lead or contribute to technical reviews and cross-functional forums.
Support strategy development in torque, energy, and thermal management applications.
Required Skills and Experience:
Hands-on experience with MHEV/PHEV and/or BEV propulsion system integration.
Deep understanding of HV/MV/LV Power Supply Systems within ICE/electrified applications.
Systems engineering experience in system definition, architecture, requirements, integration, and validation.
Knowledge in battery management, energy distribution, torque strategies, and thermal management systems.
Experience with systems tools (MBSE, SysML, Simulink, Magic System/TRM), CAE environments, and test environments (HIL, PIL, VIL).
Familiarity with global regulatory standards for battery safety, charging, EMC, etc.
Analytical proficiency using tools such as MATLAB, Excel macros, ETAS INCA, CANape, or Concerto.
A relevant engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
UK driving licence.
