Social Care Consultant - Children's Residential Services

Remote (with travel across North West)

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per year (including bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Monday to Friday

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Responsible Individual

to provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction across multiple children's residential homes in Greater London.

This pivotal role gives you the opportunity to ensure the highest standards of care, maintain robust safeguarding, and drive full regulatory compliance--all while inspiring Registered Managers and their teams to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide visible leadership, coaching, and professional support to Registered Managers. Oversee safeguarding policies, ensuring safe, accountable practice across all services. Lead homes confidently through Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' results. Manage budgets, staffing, and resources effectively to deliver operational excellence. Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Drive staff training, development, and performance management. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and child-centred practice.
About You

Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards). Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, regulatory frameworks, and Ofsted inspection standards. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience in compliance, budget management, and operational oversight. Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region. Passionate about improving outcomes and making a lasting difference in children's lives.
