Are you an experienced leader in occupational therapy or social care, passionate about enabling people to live independently and safely in their own homes?

Sheffield City Council is seeking a dynamic and innovative Team Manager to lead our new Social Care Occupational Therapy Team.



This is a unique opportunity to shape a new service, supporting adults across the city to achieve better outcomes through high-quality, person-centered Care Act focused occupational therapy assessments and reviews.



Using the unqiues skills of occupational therapy to prevent, reduce and delay the need for care and support.


About the Role

As Team Manager, you will:


Provide clear leadership and vision for the SCOT Team, ensuring high standards of practice and service delivery. Oversee the delivery of Occupational Therapy focused Care Act compliant assessments and reviews, ensuring services are person-centred, strengths-based, and outcome-focused. Manage, supervise, and develop a team of occupational therapists and occupational therapy support staff. Work closely with the adult social care teams and other partners to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions to people's care and support needs. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Drive service development, improvement, quality assurance, and performance monitoring.

What We're Looking For

A qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with clinical expertise. Proven experience of managing or supervising staff in a health or social care setting. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, etc.). Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. A collaborative, innovative, and problem-solving approach. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

This role involves ICT use and working with clients in a variety of settings.

An enhanced DBS check is required.

You must be able to converse confidently in English as per the Immigration Act 2016.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.



If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
