Community Social Enterprise Development Officer

Carmarthenshire

Contract:

Fixed-term - Ending 31/03/2027

Salary:

27,540 pro rata

Hours:

20 hours per week

We're looking for a motivated and community-minded Development Officer to support the growth and sustainability of social enterprises delivering care, support, and wellbeing services. If you're passionate about community-led solutions and love helping people and organisations thrive, this role offers a chance to make a real impact.

What you'll do



In this role, you will:

Support social enterprises to grow and develop

- offering practical guidance, mentoring, and signposting to specialist partners.

Enable access to funding

- supporting organisations to understand micro-commissioning and identify relevant grants and funding opportunities.

Champion social enterprise locally

- promoting achievements and raising awareness of the sector's value through communications and engagement activity.

Build strong partnerships

- connecting organisations across community, voluntary, and statutory sectors through networking events and the Connecting Carmarthenshire platform.

Strengthen governance and sustainability

- linking enterprises to business support, helping them develop robust practices, and supporting them to evidence impact.

Monitor and report progress

- collecting data, producing quarterly updates, and contributing to evaluation and learning activities.

Contribute to long-term sustainability

- helping shape a plan that ensures resources, learning, and networks continue beyond the funded period.

What you'll bring



You'll need:
Experience in social enterprise, community development, voluntary sector work, or similar. An understanding of care, support, or wellbeing services in Carmarthenshire or the wider region. Knowledge of commissioning and grant-funding processes. Experience of partnership working and community engagement. Confidence in monitoring, reporting, and communicating impact.
