Salary:

About Us

The SS Great Britain Trust is a multi-award-winning, world-class visitor attraction and education charity. Every year, thousands of visitors come to Bristol's vibrant harbourside to step aboard Brunel's iconic steamship, explore two immersive museums, discover a world-renowned collection, and wander a historic dockyard.

Our mission goes beyond preserving history - we connect people with stories that inspire. Through creative interpretation, pioneering education programmes, impactful community projects, and vital conservation work, we're reimagining what a heritage site can be. With a refreshed brand identity, bold new digital strategies, and ambitious audience growth plans, we're reaching more diverse audiences than ever before.

About the Role

We're looking for a creative and confident Social Media & Content Officer to join our Marketing & Communications team. This is a hands-on role where you'll plan, create, and share engaging multi-channel content that inspires, informs, and grows our audiences.

From capturing unique behind-the-scenes moments on video to delivering bold campaigns across social media, you'll help bring the SS Great Britain Trust's stories to life, spanning the ship itself, the Brunel Institute, and our wider heritage and conservation work. You'll work closely with colleagues, influencers, and partners to craft high-quality photography, video, and copy that drives engagement and increases visitors, both online and onsite.

Who We're Looking For

You'll be an imaginative storyteller with strong digital content creation skills and an eye for compelling visuals. You know how to turn ideas into content that resonates, whether that's a TikTok reel, an Instagram carousel, or a blog post.

You'll bring:

Proven experience creating engaging digital content across multiple platforms. Strong photography, videography, and copywriting skills. Proficiency with editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. A good understanding of social media strategy, analytics, and SEO best practice. Organisational skills to manage multiple projects at once. At least one year's experience in a digital content or social media role.

Why Join Us?

At Brunel's SS Great Britain, you'll be part of a passionate, creative team working in one of the UK's most inspiring visitor attractions. We offer a supportive, collaborative environment with opportunities to develop your skills, shape audience engagement, and make a real impact on our storytelling.

We're proud to be a Living Wage Employer with competitive staff benefits, flexible and family-friendly policies, and wellbeing support services. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups. All appointments are made based on skills, experience, and attitude.
