Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic

Social Media Assistant

to join our team at

Highclere Castle

, the real-life location of Downton Abbey.

This role is perfect for a recent graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in social media and digital content creation within a high-profile, heritage setting.

You'll work alongside our social media team to help manage and grow our online presence, while also contributing to internal creative projects that require strong visual design skills.

The position is for

4-6 months

with the possibility of evolving into a permanent role.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook and TikTok) Support the capture and editing of photos and videos for use in campaigns and day-to-day posts Contribute ideas and content for internal marketing and creative design projects Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices Monitor engagement, assist with analytics, and help grow our online community Support the team during special events and filming days Assist in managing online reputation by addressing any negative feedback or issues that arise on social platforms.

Qualifications

A recent graduate in Design, or a related field A strong interest in social media, digital content, and storytelling Design skills (experience with Canva is helpful but not essential) Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills A positive attitude is highly important and the ability to work well as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail. Proficiency in using social media management tools and analytics platforms. A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. A passion for staying current with digital trends and emerging technologies in the social media landscape.
