IRUK's focus is strengthening effective funding, mobilising for change through advocacy and awareness-raising, and strengthening programme development and delivery. IRUK works with various partners and institutions, from governments, non-governmental organisations and local authorities to grassroots communities.

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is recruiting for the position of 'Social Media Coordinator' to join its award-winning marketing team, based from its offices in Waterloo Office, London. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.

JOB PURPOSE:



To support the development and implementation of the organisation's organic social media strategy. To effectively manage and maintain IRUK social media output ensuring it complies with Islamic Relief policies and standards. To provide social media expertise to the organisation, and work alongside the Digital Engagement team to deliver high profile and impactful social media campaigns that drive action, engagement and raise funds. To develop, deliver and maintain effective tools that enable the Digital Engagement team to deliver a sector leading social media experience. To provide strategic and operational support to the Digital Engagement Manager, deputising in their absence.

The successful candidate must have:



Extensive experience in developing engaging channel specific content for various social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok Proven ability and experience in supporting the delivery of social media strategies Experience in live video production, and utilising live video to deliver engagement and communicate interesting and/or urgent messages to supporters and potential supporters Direct experience of working in the third sector or in a creative role, or an appreciation of the values and culture of the third sector and its communications and marketing needs Experience or understanding of working in the development sector, with some knowledge of Islamic humanitarian values Excellent all-round written and verbal communication skills Excellent knowledge of industry software and tools including social media management and social media listening tools (specific knowledge of Sprout Social would be advantageous) Strong understanding of the major technology-driven changes and trends affecting social media Strong strategic and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple demands/projects Strong networking and people skills Demonstrable knowledge of using graphic design software i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva Strong organisational skills i.e. ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc Results focused, with an ability to plan and deliver against objectives
