The Role
We're looking for a
Social Media Strategist
to drive the strategic direction of our client portfolio and build upon our digital marketing offering.
This is a consultative role where you'll work across multiple recruitment agency clients spanning healthcare, education, technology, finance, and beyond, developing integrated, data-driven strategies that deliver measurable business results.
While social media strategy is your primary focus, you'll also incorporate other key marketing channels into your strategic thinking, including lead generation campaigns (downloadable assets, gated content) and email marketing initiatives. You'll ensure our social media strategies work in harmony with broader recruitment marketing objectives.
You'll be the strategic brain behind our campaigns, analysing market trends, identifying opportunities, and creating roadmaps that our team will bring to life.
You'll be client-facing, presenting strategies and insights with confidence, and positioning yourself as a trusted advisor who understands both social media and the recruitment landscape.
What you'll be doing
Developing comprehensive social media strategies aligned with client business objectives
Creating integrated campaign strategies that connect social media with lead generation and email marketing
Conducting in-depth competitor analysis and market research to identify opportunities
Creating strategic roadmaps and campaign frameworks across social, email, and lead gen channels
Analysing performance data across multiple channels to identify trends, insights, and optimisation opportunities
Presenting integrated strategies, recommendations, and performance reports to clients
Providing strategic direction to the delivery team on campaign execution across all channels
Staying ahead of platform algorithm changes, emerging trends, and industry best practices
Identifying growth opportunities for client accounts based on data and market intelligence
Auditing client digital marketing presence and providing strategic recommendations
Developing A/B testing strategies to optimise campaign performance across channels
Translating recruitment marketing goals (candidate attraction, client acquisition) into actionable multi-channel strategies
Advising on budget allocation across organic social, paid social, email, and lead generation initiatives
Mapping customer journeys and identifying how different channels work together
What we're looking for
Essential:
Proven track record developing successful social media strategies in an agency or consultancy environment
Understanding of integrated digital marketing including email marketing and lead generation strategies
Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data and turning insights into strategy
Deep understanding of social media algorithms, platform dynamics, and best practices
Knowledge of lead generation funnels and conversion optimisation
Excellent strategic thinking. You see the big picture and can connect multiple channels to business outcomes
Confident articulating strategy to clients
Experience with paid social advertising strategy
Experience working with recruitment, B2B, or professional services clients
Sharp commercial awareness and ability to tie strategy to ROI
Strong understanding of the recruitment industry and candidate/client acquisition funnels
Ability to manage multiple client strategies simultaneously
Self-directed with exceptional organisational skills
Track record of delivering strategies that drive measurable results across multiple channels
Highly desirable but not essential:
Knowledge of email marketing platforms and best practices (Mailchimp, HubSpot, etc.)
Understanding of lead magnet strategy and content for lead generation
Knowledge of social listening and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.)
Understanding of employer branding and talent acquisition strategies
Familiarity with recruitment marketing trends and challenges
Experience with marketing automation
